A Smile and a Hug
Just a smile and a hug, is all that I ask. No angry words, don't take me to task. Please remember that I'm not fully here And even small things can drive me to tears. Just a smile and a hug, is all that I ask, While I try hard, my confusion to mask. I know something's wrong, but what can I do? How can I help when I don't even know you? I have to keep asking you again and again. Are you my spouse, my child, or a friend? What's going on? I don't understand. But I need you to take hold of my hand. I may not grasp what you're trying to say, But the smile that you give can help with my day. I may be a pest, but when I give you a tug.
